• NSTC changed charts of accounts; tournament accounts expanded
• NSTC invoices need to be reviewed closely and make sure the account is up to date

• Registration process: the quality of the pre-printed forms has improved and are easier to read
• Goal Line – Carla Overbeck to appear at the Orlando Section Conference

Section

• Meeting attended by AD Juarez and CVPA Borstel
• Section U10-U14 Tournament
• Referee assignments commensurate with number of teams
• No wristbands this year - just hand stamps
• Trash bags will be given out – bring and take trash out
• Schedules have been reviewed for teams that travel some distance
• Referee problems last year – encourage parents that referees to bring gear
• League and All Star Rosters to be forwarded by AD Juarez
• 2006 Section Conference – April 21-23 at the Town & Country in San Diego
• 2007 Section Conference - – January 19-21, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Area

• AD Juarez expressed disappointment in continuing to ask for a copy of 2005-06 paperwork submitted to NSTC from regions for the area folder that he maintains - please submit
• AYSO Adult League - briefly discussed and asked if any regions were interested
• Jamie Powers elected RC for another consecutive three year term. He has been the R17 RC for 15 years. NOTE: R165 Sandy Caplinger has been RC for 20 years.
• Goal Line – the January 17 edition highlighted R18 and RC Harry Andreas. AD suggested all RC’s submit their name
• R18 is celebrating 35^th year in AYSO – in conjunction with the anniversary RC Andreas is working with the City of Manhattan Beach to put in turf on two fields – Village and Marine
• LA Avengers indoor football promotion for February 18, 2006 -- $11.00 per person. Call Tara Weldon at (310) 407-0285.
• Area league playoffs completed on Sunday – everyone who is moving on to Riverside from Area D has been notified. AD thanked Spencer White for his continuous effort in getting the stats out to the coaches.

• All Stars Coaches – paperwork given to AD Juarez MUST be validated by the RCs. Make sure all coaches are registered volunteers, Safe Haven certified, and age-specific coach certified. This should appear in eAYSO. Several coaches do not meet the qualifications for All Stars and will continue to work with the respective RCs to either get them onboard or remove them off the roster. Paula Borstel (R34) and Ray Perez (R17) have agreed to step up to help with R1345 coach duties.
• Free Agent Photo – Passed by board except R92 RC. Area D will receive 10% of sales, vendors will be wearing area badges and blue t-shirts with logos, will dump photos not purchased, and nothing to be put on the website. Parents will have the right to not have their kids photographed.
• Changes in registration numbers in Area 1D – up 238 players
• Registration down in R7 and R1345
• Registration up in R17, R18, R21and R92
• Registration even in R34

COACH ADMINISTRATOR REPORT: Kevin Ryan

• Intermediate Coach Training held January 19, 20, and 21, 2006
• 18 people first day
• 15 people second day
• 9 people did not have volunteer forms in eAYSO
• 6 from R18 and 1 from R17 completed course
• RC Denman suggested cards be issued to show proof of previous classes
• ACA thanked Tom Pulte for his assistance with the training class
• 2006 National Coaching Course – Advance coach course to enhance and develop skills (details to follow).

REFEREE ADMINISTRATION REPORT: Rick Roberts

· Thanks to all of our regional administrators and assignors for great support for staffing Area 1D League tournament matches.

· Roger Stevenson is managing the Section One League and All Star assignments for our Area. The Riverside Tournament is scheduled for the weekends of March 4-5 and 11-12.

· Area coaches interested in Referee support for tournament teams should contact the Referee Administrator. We are making an effort to put referee teams together to support spring teams.

• Good tournament
• Hugs and Kisses did not participate this year
• R34 did not participate
• More games played than in the past
• Thank you to AD Juarez for the sponsors
• Players were given a rubber medal and lapel pin for participation
• R7 youth referee helped was given a referee coin

SPRING LEAGUE REPORT – Bill Veach

• Rules being updated
• U16 added this season
• Outside Areas can be added as approved by Area D
• Teams will play scheduled matches – no rescheduling of matches and no rainout day make-up days. Only exception is teams who are in the Section One All Star Tournament.
• More teams than last year
• Season played from March to May 2006
• Spring League Meeting scheduled for February 22 at 7 p.m. @ Anza School (120^th and La Cienega)
• Registered teams – monies due was given to each RC. If the team is paid, then on the schedule; if not paid, then not on schedule.
• $10,675.00 registered teams fees received to date for 76 teams
• Andrew Geist from the LA Galaxy scheduled to come to meeting
• Fields
• Manhattan Beach looking into the use of fields
• Hawthorne looking into home field
• Westchester – no field as of yet
• Redondo Beach – Parras and Anza available

CHILD & VOLUNTEER PROTECTION ADVOCATE (CVPA) REPORT: Paula Borstel

• By August 2006 re-register on eAyso; print two forms and turn in
• Bart Cruz needs volunteer form ASAP
• CVPA will get certified in San Diego

LOS ANGELES GALAXY RELATIONS REPORT: Gary Gomez for Tricia Grace

• Upcoming matches:
• Galaxy vs. Korea National Team
• Korea vs. USA National Team
• Galaxy vs. Costa Rica - Thursday, 23 February
• Galaxy vs. Revolution (Opening Day) – April 1
• The schedule for the Galaxy season will out in the next couple of days

• Former Torrance AYSO RC is on website a registered child molester

REGIONAL COMISSIONS REPORT:

• Region 7 – everything is fine
• Region 17 – Jaime Powers to continue as RC; everything is fine
• Region 18 –35^th Anniversary year (1971); annual banquet upcoming
• Region 21 – two more weekends at Dana; will submit for Fireworks Booth and asked R1345 to help so they can also raise money
• Region 34 – Watch out for very skilled U12 teams
• Region 92 – New RC is Ricky Labayen; City of El Segundo Taskforce looking into field turf for recommendation
• Region 1345 – Discussed issue and thanked all for input; problem coach have been spoken too; will attend Section Conference

AD conducted incentive drawing with all in attendance winning some fabulous prizes!
