• AD thanked Spencer for preparing the statistics for the Area All Star Tournament

U10-U14 PROGRAM REPORT – Danny Juarez and Spencer White

• Area All Star Tournament
• The final results are as follows:

• 11 teams moving on from Area 1D to the Section One All Star Tournament
• All medals and sportsmanship awards distributed

§ Additional sportsmanship awards need to be ordered for one team

• Board-approved vendor Free Agent Photo received positive feedback from coaches
• A special thanks to R17 coaches George Alexander and Ray Perez for assisting R1345 with coaching duties

§ Roger Stevenson commented how positive and helpful they were

• Section One League Tournament
• AD thanked all teams for fulfilling their one hour shift table duty
• AD thanked Area 1-D referees for fulfilling their game assignments
• GU12-18 team dropped out which caused a major problem for the tournament. Section One Director Jeff Hull advised AD Juarez that he is contemplating removing one wildcard from Area 1-D for the 2006-07 section league playoffs.
• Two teams qualified for playoff Sunday

§ BU12-92 Roger Grimes captured third place

• All Star table duty assignments were selected

COACH ADMINISTRATOR REPORT: Kevin Ryan

• Recommends pre-registration for future classes and bring proof of classes taken.
• U16-U19 Coaches – will recommend that the rules and regulations reflect that coaches are a current year registered volunteer, Safe Haven certified and U12 coach level certified
• RC signature validates the previous training taken
• AD requested that U12 class be held late July or Early August 2006
• Paula Borstel and Gary Gomez to help with the Spanish speaking classes requirement for R1345
• Instructor Super Camp scheduled for May 19-21, 2006 in Diamond Bar

REFEREE ADMINISTRATION REPORT: Rick Roberts

· Thanks to all of our regional administrators and assignors for great support for staffing Area 1D League and All-Star tournament matches.

· Jim Miholik, Section One Referee Administrator, this past weekend recognized Area 1D as the only are to completely fill all of its referee assignments for the Section One League tournament. Roger Stevenson managed the assignments for our Area.

· Section One All-Star tournament is this coming weekend 11 & 12 of March in Riverside.

· Area coaches interested in Referee support for tournament teams should contact the Referee Administrator. We are making an effort to put referee teams together to support spring teams.

REFEREE ASSESSMENT REPORT: Roger Stevenson

· This past season, 27 Advanced Referee assessments (13 as center referee and 14 as assistant referee) were requested with 19 being signed off for upgrade.

· Additionally, 7 National Referee assessments (6 as center referee and 1 as assistant referee) were requested and completed.

REFEREE INSTRUCTION REPORT: Brian O’ Donnell

· Area 1D Basic Referee Course will be held March 13, 15, 16 in Manhattan Beach. Information is posted on the website. Contact Roger Stevenson (lead instructor) for details.

· AYSO AREA 11L is currently sponsoring National Referee, Advanced Referee and Intermediate Referee upgrade classes in Lake Forest, CA on Fri, Sat & Sun, July 14-16. Webmaster has posted the details and link on the Area 1D Website.

· One instructor (Region 34) has his instructor credential on hold until the roster from October 2005 has been submitted.

MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR REPORT: Holly Veach

• Sandy Orly setting up March 10, 2006 meeting – identify needs within each region

VIP PROGRAM – Bart Cruz

• Communication between the regions to get more kids in the program needed
• AD suggested contacting the baseball Challenger program

SPRING LEAGUE REPORT – Bill Veach

• 94 Teams registered – $21,650.00 brought in with fees
• Coaches in good shape; couple of assistant coaches not approved (Safe Haven)
• Cutoff was February 26 – no adds or drops – no roster changes per AD Juarez
• Free Agent Photo called to offer services – AD Juarez will return call/e-mail

CHILD & VOLUNTEER PROTECTION ADVOCATE (CVPA) REPORT: Paula Borstel

• By August 2006 re-register on eAYSO; print two forms and turn in

LOS ANGELES GALAXY RELATIONS REPORT: Gary Gomez for Tricia Grace

REGIONAL COMISSIONS REPORT:

• Region 7 – Dave Emmons officially voted in as RC by Board; picking up the pieces; 95% returning Board Members; spread the work within the region the goal for this upcoming season; checking accounts transferred; audit to be requested
• Region 17 – Bart Cruz is new CVPA; first new Board meeting held with AD Juarez in attendance; some new people on the Board; declined U16 team from going to the National Games in Chicago; carnival over Labor Day weekend with a mini soccer fest
• Region 18 –no report
• Region 21 – no report – absent
• Region 34 – Problem of getting people approved to attend conferences; Board meeting March 21
• Region 92 – New RC Ricky Labayen is official; outgoing RC Denman thanked all for the kindness and support throughout her term; first Board Meeting March 20, key positions filled on the Board
• Region 1345 – Process of getting new Board; difficulties with previous RC; upcoming Board Meeting March 15; Chivas coming in to help with registration – not interested in selling tickets within Lennox for Galaxy games (cultural thing); excited to the start of the new season.

AD conducted incentive drawing with all in attendance winning some fabulous prizes!
