- Treasurer’s report distributed reflecting a
balance of $21,667.8. AD stated
that there is a few outstanding bills.
Report M/S/C as presented
- 06-07 Area assessment of $620.10 from R1345 due
- AD reviewed the current NTSC
invoices. He made a point
of pointing out there is an “Amount Due Now” figure and a “Total
Outstanding Balance” figure.
He has pointed out this issue to the powers to be at the NSTC but
it has gone on deaf ears. So even
though in many cases the “Amount Due Now” figure is less the “Total
Outstanding Balance” figure, just pay the lower amount. Here is what is currently due:

- NAGM is scheduled for May 25-28, 2007 in New
Orleans.
- AD encouraged RC’s to submit an application to
participate as a Region Caucus Facilitator. AD submitted his as a an Area Caucus Facilitator.
- NTSC will enforce a $25.00 return
check fee
- New Sponsors include Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes,

- AAP/RAP participation higher than last year –

- Player count close to goal of 100,000

- Next meeting to discuss NAGM Bylaw changes,
Rules & Regulations changes and NBOD candidates

- Jamie Powers suspended as RC by Section One Director Jeff Hull. Kevin Ryan appointed
by AD interim RC-Elect for R17. Thank you to Kevin for stepping up to
assist Area D and the region.

- Area Director Election Commission
- Chairman Gary Gomez,
Bart Cruz, and
Lindley Hasenauer presented a slate consisting of one
candidate. Gary Gomez opened the floor for any nominations
from the floor. Hearing none he
than closed the nominations. He made the motion to re-elect AD Daniel Juarez for another three-year term.
With only RC’s voting – AD Juarez won
by acclamation. His new term will expire in June 2011 even though his
current term expires in June 2008

Hazing incident of a
soccer player at Cal State, Dominiquez
o Ex-Manhattan Beach resident David Vanole who played
on the Olympic and National Team passed way at the age of 43
- R21 encountered a problem with a neighbor whose
lattice was broken when player climbed
over a wall at Cabrillo Field to retrieve a ball. R21 paid the contractor $375.00 directly for the repair instead of the homeowner.
- Region 34 yearbook passed around and was very
impressive

- GU10-34 Assistant Coach Carayanis sent off –
served suspension
- BU14-92 Player AJ Stone sent off – to serve
second game during All Stars
- GU12-34 Coach Oscar Jara banned from future
participation from Area programs for being a “no show” for a consolation
match on Sunday, January 21, 2007.

- Good volunteer support for Area 1D
League Tournament
- Thin support for first weekend of
Area 1D All-Star Tournament
- Note: Received anecdotal report of
parent threatening referee to fight after match. A written report has been
requested for follow-up.
- Section 1 League (March 3 &4) and
All-Star (March 10 & 11) game assignments are available; Area 1D has
72 matches to cover
- Next Area 1D Referee staff meeting
will be in March after Regional staff changes are complete

ASSESSMENT REPORT: Roger Stevenson
- Regions are conducting Observations
for Intermediate upgrades during League and All-Star Tournaments
- Have 6 requests for Advanced
assessments to complete during Area 1D All Star Tournament
REFEREE
INSTRUCTION REPORT: Brian O’Donnell
- No outstanding rosters in 1D; all
rosters for completed courses have been submitted
- Area !D Advanced Referee Course held
9 January 2007 with 6 attendees
- Area 1D Intermediate Referee Course
began 1 February 2007 with 14 enrolled
- If there is sufficient interest (10
or more) in a Basic Referee Course for Spring League, the class will be
scheduled
- The Ken Aston Camp, the premier AYSO
residential referee camp, will once again be offering enhanced courses
this year at Chapman University in Orange, CA 13-15 July, 2007. Details
can be found at www.kenastoncamps.org.
